A Newborn Babies Diet

From the time your baby is born till she reaches the age of 3 months, she is considered to be a newborn. During this time your baby will do a lot of sleeping during the day. Of course they will cry when they are hungry, when they have a dirty nappy or when they have wind. Your newborn is growing and developing dramatically. Her digestive system is particularly fragile during the early months of life and that is why it is majorly important for your baby to get the correct diet.

The Food Your Newborn Baby Needs

1. Newborn can only be given two things; Breast milk or a formula designed for your babies age. As we all know breast is best and breast feeding is recommended for your baby up to at least the age of 6 months. Breast milk is rich is essential nutrients such as vitamins, mineral and antibodies which are transferred from the mothers body directly to the newborn. Formula however is designed to be an adequate replacement for breast milk as some mothers choose not to breast feed. Formula also contains everything the baby needs to develop, grow and fight diseases.

A Newborn Feeding Schedule

2. When a baby is first born they tend to need feeding quite regularly. At the beginning your baby may not follow any particular schedule. Breast fed babies usually needing feeding every 2 - 3 hours. Formula fed babies tend to need fed every 3 - 4 hours.

Signs That Your Baby May Be Hungry

3. You should never stick to a fixed schedule with your newborn baby! When your baby is hungry she will need fed. Do not decide not to feed your baby when they are upset just because they have not reached the 3 hours between feeds that your nurse said she should. You will know that your baby is hungry when she roots for the nipple or bottle, when she is sucking and moving her lips or when she is just upset for no other known reason.

How Much To Feed Your Baby

4. In the first month of life your newborn will drink around 2 - 4 ounces of formula. In the second month she which drink 5 - 6 ounces and in month 3 she will be drinking about 7 ounces. Babies who are breast fed will just stop feeding when satisfied.

Do Babies Need Any Supplements

5. During the first six month she will need no supplement at all. Breast milk or formula is all the baby needs. If breastfed she may be prescribed some vitamin D if a test reveals it is low in their blood.

Warning

6. At around 6 months solid can be introduced to the diet. However if you introduce them any sooner it may result in the baby gaining excessive weight, allergies and even digestive issues such as indigestion. Newborns should never be given cows milk as it is too strong for the babies digestive system.

Munchkin 2 Pk Bling Knob Pacifier 0- 6 Month

- I bought these pacifiers before my daughter was born, simply because I thought they were cute. These pacifiers stay in her mouth better than any others we'ver tried and she loves them! We've tried other brands and she spits them out or can't hang on to them as well, but as soon as we give her one of these pacifiers, she calms down quickly. However, I would definitely make sure that you buy the "knob" kind. She does have difficulty hanging on to the nipple on the one that has the handle on the pacifier (the kind that isn't the "knob" pacifier). We love these pacifiers!!!!!!

Candida in Babies - How to Spot Symptoms and First Response Treatment

Can Babies get Candida Infections?

Unfortunately, yes babies can and do get Candida yeast infection. It is commonly called oral thrush and roughly 1 in 7 babies develop it. It generally affects babies up to 10 months old, but older infants can get thrush too. Candida yeast infection can also be mistaken as nappy or diaper rash.

What Causes Candida in Babies?

Candida is yeast that is present in our gut. Yeasts are naturally present in all of us, but only become a problem when the bodies natural balance becomes disturbed and the yeast goes through a period of overgrowth causing infection. Yeast infections thrive in warm damp environments, and the babies mouth and nappy area are ideal breeding grounds.

There are many reasons why the natural balance of yeast in the baby can be disturbed; most often it is following taking antibiotics to treat another illness. It can also be passed from the mother if she is breast feeding and has yeast infection present on her nipples. Often, as with adults, the cause may not be immediately apparent.

Yeast infection in the nappy/diaper area can be triggered by wet or soiled nappies. This can be prolonged by the use of plastic pants which do not allow moisture to escape.

Symptoms of Yeast Infection

Candida infection in the babies mouth shows as a white to yellow coating or spots on the tongue, inside the cheeks or on the gums. This coating can not be easily wiped off and gentle scraping will cause the area to bleed. Babies with severe oral thrush may find sucking painful and refuse to feed or drool excessively.

In the nappy area, the yeast infection appears as a dark red rash that has an almost shiny appearance. Usually the rash appears in the folds or creases of skin.

Treating Candida Infection in your Baby

Oral Infection

Many cases last only a few days and clear without any treatment. After feeding wipe the babies mouth with a damp cloth to remove traces of milk. Giving your baby a small amount of purified water after a milk feed helps remove milk traces left in the mouth. If the baby still shows signs of oral thrush after 2 or 3 days, seek advice from your Doctor or pediatrician.

Nappy Rash

Keep the area clean and dry, changing the nappy frequently. Where possible let the baby go nappy free. Use moisture resistant barrier cream. If the rash is not clearing seek medical advice.

Keeping Candida in Check

The Candida yeast is very hardy and it often reoccurs. Good hygiene is essential to prevent re-infection or prolonging the original infection.

  • Sterilise your babies bottles, teats, dummies, mouth/chew toys regularly

  • Wash your hands after changing nappies and diapers.

  • If you are breast feeding wash nursing bras and pads in hot water. Add vinegar to the rinse to help kill the yeast. Make sure you do a second rinse to remove traces of vinegar which can be irritating to the skin.

  • Baking soda is a good natural treatment for yeast infection. Use a paste of baking soda and apply it to your nipples if you breast feed to help prevent cross infection. Rinse it off before breastfeeding

Can I Still Breastfeed?

Yes, breastfeeding is the best way to feed your baby. With good hygiene you can stop any cross contamination of the yeast infection.

Candida yeast infections can cause a whole range of health issues. More information about candida and natural treatments is available at http://www.yeastfreetoday.info. Visit now and download our free candida guide!

- I got this for a friend who is so into the muppets, he has fun fur instead of hair on his head, which he hides with a hat. The shirt is great quality, and endures after many runs through the washer. this was through Amazon but not from Amazon, so I had to pay some serious postage, but it was worth it to see my friend's face light up when he saw the monster eyes on the front.

Help My Baby Learn

For any baby, his journey into the world of learning starts at birth. Your baby's brain grows faster in his first two years than at any other time, and all the encouragement you give will help him make the most of his ever expanding potential. The brain development during the first years of life is critical to the lifelong success of every child. During these early months, when baby's brain is developing rapidly, adult participation in even simple activities with young children makes a lasting impression. Here you can get some ideas about what you can do to help your baby learn

In the first 3 months of a baby's life, he will be using his sense of sight, hearing, touch and smell to help him make sense of the world. You can help stimulate his senses by doing the following;

· Talk to you baby in a soft, reassuring tone of voice. When he coos, you should respond to his cue.
· Gently touch or massage your baby's hands and feet. You can stroke his head, arms or legs. You can also gently blow into his hands and feet or allow him to grab your finger with his hand.
· Experiment with different positions when you carry your baby. Cradle him in your arms or lean him on your shoulders. This helps baby to see the world in different perspective.
· Put your baby on different textured textiles, smooth satin, cool silk, warm wool or soft flannel.
· Make faces at your baby and look at his responses, smile or stick your tongue out at him to get a response.
· Play peek-a-boo with him when you are pulling his clothes over his head. This helps him build his self-confidence.

How To Enhance Your Baby's Development

Talk to your baby. The most helpful way to nurture your baby's development is to communicate with your baby with both your voice and your eyes. Even babies of a few days old can pick up the characteristics of your voice and use the speech patterns later on when they learn to speak. You should also sing to him any song that is familiar to you, not only children's songs. He will love to hear the sound of your voice as you communicate with him

Attend to his basic needs. All babies cry when they are uncomfortable, be it due to a wet nappy or because he is hungry. A settled, happy baby will learn faster and will be more receptive to stimuli. So pick him up as soon as you can, cuddle him and settle his needs before engaging him.

Pick the right toys. Always check if the toy is suitable for the age group your child is in. Check the packaging when you intend to buy a new toy for your baby. It's important to choose things that are right for his developmental stage - for safety reasons and because he'll get more out of a toy that he's physically ready to play with. For example, a 6-month old baby cannot play with a wind-up toy but will enjoy a toy with a special texture or bright color.

Baby books. Even tiny babies enjoy the experience of sitting on your lap and looking at bright pictures of everyday things he'll recognize, such as animals or toys. Choose books that are made of cardboard or cloth because they're designed to be chewed and touched.

Everyday classroom. Go out every day, to the shops, the park, your local parent and baby group, to visit friends or just for a walk. The change of scene is stimulating for you and your baby.

Use Flashcards. Start your baby on the path of reading by flashing white cards with big words in red. The use of flashcards to help children read and learn math has been well researched by Glenn Doman. There are ready-made ones or you can make them using white hard paper or cardboard and use a red felt-tip pen. To save time, you can also use a specially designed children's educational software to generate the words for you on a computer screen.

A good learning tool for babies incorporated in a computer software should also flash math dot cards and other picture images on screen to accelerate your child's development. You can save your lessons plans for use later and as many times as you wish. You will be surprised how inexpensive a good program can be and it'll pay huge dividends later when your child enters school.

So start your child early on the path of learning. Remember it does not have to take much time to bring out the genius in your child, a few minutes a day can make a huge difference in your child's life-long learning quest.

Elaine Mak has developed a new program for babies and young children to develop their true genius and potential. Find out more with her free and popular ecourse at http://www.teachmybaby.com

Grobag Chick a Dee Baby Sleeping Bag 1.0 Tog, 0-6 Months

Grobag Chick a Dee Baby Sleeping Bag 1.0 Tog, 0-6 Months Grobag Chick a Dee Baby Sleeping Bag 1.0 Tog, 0-6 Months

Best Customer Review

- I had heard of the Grobag and am glad that Amazon is carrying them. I recently purchased the Chick-a-Dee Grobag for my daughter and am very happy with it.

Pros
1) Excellent quality. This sleepsack is well made, and I expect it to be durable for the long haul. (If that changes, I will add an update to my review.) I do think the quality is MUCH better than the Halo sleepsack, which I've used in the past.
2) Long. So, I expect this bag to last my child for many months with the extra room at the bottom. She is not standing in her crib, so I haven't yet experienced any problems with that and this sleepsak as another reviewer pointed out; however, I expect that reviewer would have a problem with any sleepsack.
3) Cozy. This particular sleepsack has a fleece outer and cotton inner lining. I saw another review that they did not like the feel of the outer layer. If you're interested in knowing the outer material, go to [...], where you can see whether it's woven cotton, knit jersey, fleece, velour or something else.
4) Easy to zip for adults but hard to get undone by infants/toddlers. Note that the 0-6 month size has snaps at the shoulders vs. 6-18 month plus sizes have zippers. This means the designs between the smallest and larger sizes will vary; so again, check out Keen Distribution or Gro if you want to see actual photos. I haven't found it difficult to get my toddler in the bag although she's usually not sound alseep when I've done this.
5) Different weights for different room temperatures. Gro makes 0.5, 1.0 and 2.5 togs -- which are different weights depending on your baby's room temperature. See Gro or Keen Distribution for more details, but basically:

Tog Description
2.5 tog Ideal for standard nursery temperatures of 61-69°F
1.0 tog Use during warmer weather and in nurseries of 69-73°F
0.5 tog For hot weather and very warm nursery environments of 73-80°F

Cons
1) Style. The styles are ok, but unfortunately Keen Distribution is Grobag's US distributor, and they're not carrying the new styles at this time. I think the new styles are a lot cuter than some of the old.
2) I wish Grobag also made more gender neutral styles that were available.

All in all, I think this is a very good quality product for the price, and I would purchase again.

Update on 10/30/09 - This sleepsack washes very well and the fleece outer does not pill. I have purchased a second one, am extremely happy with this product. Unfortunately, Keen Distribution looks to be limiting/eliminating its stock with Amazon, and consumers can really only buy directly from them (with NO free shipping - bah!).

Choosing Baby Names in a Multi-Cultural Family

Despite the fact that choosing baby names can be exciting project, and one to which most pregnant women give much thought during their pregnancy, if the woman is in a multi-cultural family, then the choice of baby name takes on a life of its own. Once the initial joy of consulting a book of possibilities wears off, dread and fear of never finding something that will make all family members happy takes over! Although the choice of a baby name does fall to the parents, there are a number of additional problems that can fall on a family which has more than one nationality to consider, and which are in addition to the pitfalls of choosing a name which none multi-cultural families need to avoid.

The first thing that must be thought about is the country in which the child will be raised. Baby names on the top 10 most popular names in the USA may not appear on a similar list in Europe or Asia. There are sometimes reasons for this, the most important of which is that the country will not have names on it which are difficult to pronounce for the people who live there. Not all countries who use the alphabet pronounce the letters of that alphabet in the same way; this means that the way you write the name can also decide how the baby name sounds when spoken by the people in the country in which you live. Some names fair better in translation around the world than others!

Some cultures have a need for baby names which have some form of religious significance, and this will greatly influence the opinions of some family members. Another factor will be a cultural trend towards always naming a child after a family member from a previous generation - a name passed down through hundreds of years. If you are a person who believes firmly in following traditions, then this probably won't be a problem, but if you have a preference for modern names, then this could create friction within the family that is still an issue when the baby graduates college! Even if the tradition within the culture/family is to give the same middle name to each child, this too will raise issues as the first name will have to be something that easily connects to this imposed second name.

When faced with a situation of needing to please everyone, including yourself, do your homework. Find baby names that are going to be acceptable to both respective families and cultures, and are ones which you can live with. If you feel that you don't really like any of them, check the family tree on each side and see if anyone did stray off the traditional path and pave the way for you to do the same. If this fails, see if you can reach a compromise where the baby will have the traditional first name, but a non-traditional middle one so that everyone can be happy about the baby name and look forward to greeting the baby when it arrives, this way the baby will have a right to choose which name to use when it becomes an adult.

Are you looking for the perfect baby name? here for a resource jam packed with advice for finding that perfect baby name.

How You Can Encourage Your Baby to Crawl

Around the age of six months the baby starts to show signs of turning over, or even signs of crawling.

Some babies start to crawl much later, but remember that every baby has it's own rhythm of development, However, if the baby doesn't shows signs of crawling at the age of 12 months, you may want to consult with a doctor about his development.

Here are some ways that can help you encourage your baby to crawl:

1. Activity mattress - this mattress is a convenient and hard surface for the baby to crawl on. It's important that the baby has a hard surface with sufficient friction in order to succeed crawling (In our case once we put our baby on the floor instead of the activity mattress, she started to crawl).

2. Motivation toys - if your baby likes a specific toy, you may want to put your baby on it's belly, and put the desirable object at a distance from him (approximately 4 inch away from him). Most likely the baby will do all his efforts to get to the object.

3. Inflated ball - this is just a simple colored ball, with a small touch it will start to move, and the baby will reveal a big interest in it, same with balloons.

4. Obstacles track - you can put pillows on the floor, that will encourage the baby to lift his knees so that he could crawl over them, and like so practice crawling on 6.

5. Electronic toys - these toys can be easily found in stores, Once they start making a sound And moving alone, they stimulate the baby to play with them.

6. Opposition - while your baby lies on his belly give him resistance with your hands that will make him push with his feet and he will try to move himself.

7. Items you can find at home - plastic bottles or boxes of baby food, almost anything that you can roll on the floor.

Duel Baby Pushchairs - 3 Options To Consider

If you are a mom with two small kids then you know just how hard it can be to juggle between the two. Moving around can be a real challenge and whether its twins or 2 toddlers, you need to choose your baby stroller real carefully. There are a number of factors you need to consider and the age of your kids as well as you daily routines are important considerations. There are basically 3 options you have with duel or twin stroller. Here are some of the main consideration.

1. Twin Stroller
A twin stroller is basically a wider version of the single that allows two kids to sit next to each other. This is probably the best option for twins or for two small kids of roughly the same age. The biggest problem with these twin strollers is the size and the weight. It can be heavy to handle and is rather large - something to be mindful of if you are constantly loading your stroller in and out of a car.

2. Double Decker Strollers
Like twin strollers these have room for two kids but instead of sitting next to each other it has a top and a bottom level. These work really well if you have two kids of different ages and it allows your small baby to sleep in peace while your toddler fiddles around on the top level. Although these types of strollers are still quite heavy, they tend to be much more compact.

3. Stroller "Skateboards"
When the idea was first pioneered by Bugaboo many people laughed it off, but today almost all the stroller manufacturers have some variation of this concept. It basically a skateboard that attached to the back of a standard baby pushchair and allows a child to stand on it. Its a really inexpensive solution and most kids love it. Its only suitable for kids 2 years and older and if you consider the fact that you will only need it for a short while it really makes sense.

How Do I Ease My Baby's Discomfort While Teething?

Babies usually grow their first few teeth between 4- 7 months. Their teeth will continue to grow out until about 3 years of age or when they have completed the set of 20 milk teeth. Babies usually experience discomfort during teething especially during the growth of the first few teeth at the bottom gums. During this period, babies may loose their appetite, drool excessively and chew on their hands, toys and practically everything they get their hands on.

Parents should not fret when their babies start chewing on their toys because this helps the teeth break out to the surface. During this period, you must make sure that the baby's hands are clean and the toys surrounding him/ her have passed the highest safety standards.

To help ease your baby's discomfort, make sure to get him/her a teething toy that is easy to chew on but won't break even when your baby chews or pulls excessively on it. Some babies find comfort in using pacifiers. If you decide to let your daughter use a pacifier, make sure it comes in a single-piece to prevent choking. Pacifiers with separate parts may cause choking because of detachable parts. Still there are many babies that need varying textures to satisfy the need to chew.

You can get them specially designed teething toys that come in different sizes. You can also buy a good teething toy that has different shapes, texture and sizes incorporated into the toy so that the baby will find which part of the toy it is most fun and comfortable to chomp on. There are plenty of babies who can be fussy when they are teething and many of them easily gets bored with simple rubber teethes.

The Baby Whoozit Touch and Teethe Ring is a good teething toy because it is a fun and educational toy and a teething toy at the same time. The Baby Whoozit Touch and Teethe Ring comes in bright colors. The center of the toy is surrounded by soft teething material with different textures and various colorful beads. The toy was designed to offer a fun distraction to the baby's discomfort. It is very easy to grip and has various shapes and textures that most babies love. The toy also encourages play and discovery and helps develop eye-hand coordination and the baby's motor skills. You can purchase the toy even if your baby is not teething yet because as a toy, it already offers a lot of value. The toy includes fun sounds, rings, a squeaker and a mirror.

Whatever teething toy you choose to purchase for your baby, just make sure you check that the toy is safe. You can also help ease your baby's discomfort by rubbing his/her gums and by using special teething gels. Most of the time, you wouldn't really have a need for over-the-counter teething gels or other special methods to ease pain because a soft but sturdy teething toy is usually enough to ease your baby's discomfort during teething.

- We've used these nipples regularly for the past month or so and have had no collapsing, or any inversion. The flow seems good for our son, who is ten weeks old. Recommended.

UPDATE- Maybe 4 stars instead. We've had one collapsing nipple and one leaking nipple. The leak comes from between the nipple and ring. We interchanged the nipple and ring with another ring and nipple that worked and found that the ring was the problem, even though it looked fine.

How to Get Rid of Baby Fat For Good!

Common Question: As a new mom, I am stuck with a few extra pounds of baby weight. I have such limited time because most of my time is spent taking care of my newborn. How do I get rid of the baby fat with the time that I have?

Short Answer: You'll be glad to know that to get rid of baby weight, you don't need long, complicated exercise routines. You just need to start slow and stay consistent.

Think Positive!

As discouraging as it is to see a jiggly belly, you have to remember what your body went through over the last nine months and that EVERY mom goes through it.

Look at yourself in the mirror everyday and thank your body for your baby and tell yourself how beautiful you are. As cheesy as it may sound, it works! The biggest thing is to be positive!

Take Advantage of the Time You DO Have

Six, ten-minute workouts can be just as effective as one 60-minute workout. When your baby is down for a nap, use that time to get in a few sets of squats, lunges, push-ups, or sit-ups. If you have a treadmill or stationary bike, hop on it for 10 minutes. You'll be amazed at how a few quick sessions will make a difference.

You can also take a walk with your baby when they're asleep. Take them along in a comfy stroller for a walk around the neighborhood. Again, every little bit counts!

Nutrition, Nutrition, Nutrition

I said it three times because it's the most important! Proper nutrition is key especially if you're breastfeeding. You need to make sure that you're getting plenty of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients for you and your baby.

You should eat lean proteins (chicken, turkey, fish), complex carbohydrates (brown rice, oatmeal), and monounsaturated fats (nuts, olive oil, avocados).

Stay away from processed sugars and fast food. These foods are typically high in calories and low in nutrients so you'll never feel satisfied and will end up eating more.

Consistency is Key!

To get rid of baby fat and keep it off, you have to be consistent over a long period of time. You gained the weight over a long period of time and you need to lose it over a long period of time. It doesn't happen overnight or in a week.

Depending on how much you gained, it could take several weeks to several months. That's ok! You will get there! If you try to "cheat" with quick weight loss solutions (ie. pills, gimmicky diets) you will not be successful in the long run.

Take this time to learn how to take care of yourself. It's a great opportunity to develop good habits that will be passed on to your baby.

Like many new moms, I struggled with weight loss as well. I didn't know where to start or what to do. There is so much information out there I didn't know who to turn to or what to believe. Luckily, I got the help I needed from another mom who knows a thing or two about losing baby weight.

If you are lost like I was and need an easy to follow, step-by-step plan visit http://www.BurnThatBabyFat.com to get help today.

Baby Clubs Help You Save Money

If you are like many people today, you cut corners when you can in order to help out the family budget. If you are a new mum or dad you know how much money it takes to keep your little one in nappies and milk.

It really helps if you use coupons when shopping for the essential baby items you use every day. Luckily, baby coupons and vouchers are pretty easy to come by. There are many schemes you can join when you are expecting that will send you special offers and coupons that are appropriate for your child's age as she grows.Retailers will send you notice of sales on nappies and other baby supplies. You'll receive a series of magazines filled with baby care information that include coupons you can clip to save on your purchases.

If you look around you will find many different retailers offering a variety of baby products. It may take some time initially to register for them all, but after you do it once, you will receive discounts and coupons for several months or years. Some other clubs you might want to join are with some of the leading nappy manufacturers. You can find out about these clubs by browsing through parenting magazines or looking up baby product companies online. Baby schemes are a great source of coupons and samples however, they have other purposes as well.

Of course, the big advantage to baby clubs is the savings you can enjoy on your monthly nappy bill. Nappy coupons are very common in baby clubs as are coupons for baby food and other essentials like wipes and lotions. In some cases you will even receive free samples or trial size offers. Every little bit you can save will add up over time and could make a difference to your budget. You'll be buying nappies for a few years anyway so you might as well save money while you do it. All it takes is patiently cutting out coupons or using online coupon codes which isn't much effort at all. And if you are extra vigilant you can even combine coupons with sale offers and really save a bundle.

To save the most money when using baby coupons, you really have to plan ahead. If you allow yourself to run out of nappies, you will probably have to pay top prices so you can get some in a hurry. The key to saving big is to hold onto valuable coupons and pair them with sales. When you can buy at a rock bottom price, then stock up. To do that though, you will need a handful of coupons and that's why joining these baby clubs is such a good idea.

Many of baby clubs offer educational material that help you learn how to care for your child. In addition to that, they can act as support groups, especially if the club has an online presence and is set up to allow members to interact with each other on a forum. You'll always have ready access to other mums with kids the same age as yours who are struggling with the same issues as you.

Baby Gender Prediction - Want to Predict Your Next Baby's Gender?

Is it possible to predict baby gender? In this article I'm going to share some of the ways of determining baby gender, both pre-conception and/or after conception.

You could go to a fertility clinic, but you will get no guarantee of success and could very easily spend thousands of dollars! I don't know about you but I don't have a big wad of money to give away. So, are there some other, less expensive alternatives?

Let's start with the Shettles Method as your baby predictor. This baby sex prediction method is based on the fact that the father's sperm is the deciding factor in whether a baby girl or boy baby is conceived.

The sperm that will create a boy baby is physically smaller, weaker, but faster than the "girl" sperm. By taking advantage of these differences Dr. Shettles realized you could actually give an advantage to one sperm over the other and often result in the baby boy or girl you wanted.

Dr. Shettles came up with a simple, at home three step system of baby gender selection many years ago, but his methods have withstood the test of time and are still very popular today!

You could opt for the Chinese Lunar Calendar Baby Predictor, which has been predicting baby's sex for centuries. Many in China and throughout the far eastern countries have a lot of faith in it's accuracy (up to 99%.) Here in the west we tend to be a little more skeptical. The Chinese Lunar Calendar Baby Predictor is said to be able to predict a baby's gender either before or after conception, but I'll let you be the judge.

Then of course there are The Old Wives Tales for baby gender prediction. Some of these old wives tales gender predictors seem a little outlandish (the "Drano" prediction method for example) but I would think some would have a basis in fact. Again I'll let you be the judge on the accuracy of these gender predictors as well.

Both the Chinese Lunar Calendar Baby Predictor and The Old Wives Tales can be a whole lot of fun to experiment with at your next baby shower if nothing else.

If you are pregnant now and want to know the sex of your unborn baby, you could find out by way of ultrasound in your 4th or 5th month. Or if your are scheduled for either a Amniocentesis, or Chorionic Villus Sampling or CVS test you can find out your baby's gender with a 99% accuracy! These tests are pretty invasive though, and won't be preformed just to predict baby gender.

It's been said that over 70% of couples world-wide would choose the gender of their babies pre-conception if they only could, if you fall within this group, you might try looking into the Shettles Methods, which it's believed can increase your chances of success from the normal 50/50 to over 95%!

The most important thing to always keep in mind is, regardless of whether you are successful in your gender predicting efforts or not, your new baby should be wanted and loved even if it is of the "other" gender. Gender disappointment is real and should not be taken lightly, don't allow yourself to succumb to it!
